Learn to make a coordinating market bag and zipper pouch while picking up useful sewing skills along the way. We’ll tackle pockets, zippers, linings, gussets, and pattern reading—all taught by the talented and fun Carolyn Fortier.

Beep. Boop. Create! Kids will power up their creativity and craft their very own colorful robot mask using bright foam shapes and simple assembly techniques. Kids will head home with a wearable masterpiece that's ready to add to a costume or hours of imaginative play!  

Everyone is welcome to celebrate artist Eric Twait, a Brainerd Lakes Area artist whose exhibit Letters to the Void explores grief, reflection, hope, and the things left unsaid through layered words, color, and texture. Meet the artist, view his work, and enjoy light refreshments at this free event.

Born from one artist's journey through love and loss, this workshop invites you to explore what is waiting to be expressed within you. Through thoughtful prompts and an intuitive painting process, you'll create from the truth of your present moment, painting what you feel rather than what you see. Beginners welcome. No painting experience is necessary for this class led by the current exhibiting artist.

Young artists will iron, tie, and stuff their pillow as we transform colorful fleece into an adorable and soft seasonal decoration to enjoy. Best of all, no sewing is required! BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND! A rare opportunity to join former exhibiting artist Robin Foster for an immersive workshop and live Raku firing demonstration. Guests glaze a pre-made ceramic piece by the award-winning artist, then watch as it is pulled glowing and transformed from the fire on the RiverPlace patio. Each participant leaves with a one-of-a-kind work shaped by flame, atmosphere, and chance. Lunch provided.

Bring a book you’ve loved and leave with a new mystery read! Join us for a cozy evening of books, conversation, light refreshments, and fun bookish icebreakers. Pick up your Blind Book Swap kit at RiverPlace, wrap a recently enjoyed book, add a few teaser clues, and bring it back for the swap. Then choose your next read based only on the clues—no title or author revealed! Kits ready September 1.

A guided, retreat style art workshop. 

It's valuable to look back on our lives and notice the multitude of twists and turns we’ve experienced, the times that were transformative, challenging, joyful, and fearful. For this fun and thoughtful project, each participant will reflect on their life's journey and how various experiences shaped them. All levels of experience are welcome.

Join Cass from the Laughter Patch for another evening of deep relaxation through the soothing vibrations of a guided sound bath. Using singing bowls and other resonant instruments, this immersive experience offers a space to settle into stillness while surrounded by calming waves of sound.

Enjoy a special patio edition of RiverPlace Jam Night! Experience live music from talented local musicians with solo performances and collaborative acoustic sets in a relaxed, welcoming setting. A cash bar by Springsteel will be available with beverages for purchase.

Learn the basics of fiber art through fun, beginner-friendly weaving! Students will make a small cardboard loom and create a colorful woven project using yarn while exploring patterns and textures. These easy weaving techniques can be recreated at home, giving young artists a fun new craft to enjoy.

Whether you want to remember new friendships, lake days, camping trips, favorite books, or family time, you'll leave with a  journal ready to treasure your favorite memories from the season.

Let's celebrate the great state of Minnesota! Back by popular demand, Diana Magner returns to teach this fun dot painting class, where participants will use the technique to paint a Minnesota magnet. All items will be provided, including tools, paint, and a Minnesota cutout. Additional magnet styles available for $5 during class.

Everyone is welcome to a gallery open house and artist reception to celebrate artist Holly Marie (Warroad, Minn.), the multidisciplinary creator of Warroad RiverPlace’s current exhibit, Folklore and Fairy Tales.

Visitors are invited to browse the artwork, meet Holly Marie, and socialize over light refreshments at this free event. Stay for the fun musical comedy, Lucky Stiff, presented by Warroad Summer Theatre.

Join featured gallery artist Holly Marie (of Warroad, Minn.) as she reads her illustrated book, Little Troll Girl. After the story, kids will make their own blueberry hand pies inspired by the book.

Create a “meowsterpiece” at Feline Fun Swipe Art, a playful session where swipe painting reveals vibrant cat designs. Once the cats appear, you’ll add character and personality using markers and pens to finish your artwork.

The Queen of the Piano returns to the stage once again this holiday season, bringing good news and joy with her concert grand piano. Touring for 37 years, Ms. Line will share all the favorite hits of her Christmas career and tell sentimental stories that delight in the season. Most known for her "mashup medley," be ready to shout out your favorite song request as she entertains and plays off-the-cuff audience requests spontaneously. Line just released her 67th album, and she plans to play a few of her favorites this year to showcase the project.
